Who cares about money?

At the Bundesbank, we work to make sure that the value of money remains stable in Germany and Europe. Together with the ECB and our European partner central banks, we are responsible for monetary policy. We also deal with all sorts of issues concerning money, such as how to keep our euro banknotes safe from counterfeiters and what features a digital euro needs to make it consumer-friendly. Our colleagues in banking and financial supervision use digital analyses and artificial intelligence to monitor risks in the financial system and, if needed, take steps to mitigate them.

We’d like to use #rp24 as a chance to talk about the central bank of the future with you. What opportunities and risks do digital innovations, such as AI, bring with them when it comes to our supervisory tasks? What should a digital euro look like? And what role do climate measures play at the Bundesbank? Come along to one of our expert talks on the re:publica stages, where Executive Board Members Burkhard Balz and Sabine Mauderer are among the speakers lined up. At our info stand you can take a peek into our gold vault deep underground and experience Frankfurt’s skyline from its lofty heights – courtesy of virtual reality. Pit your wits against our quiz to be in with a chance of winning a chocolate gold bar.

We look forward to seeing you!
