Brigitte Strahwald

Brigitte Strahwald coordinates the development and expansion of the Pettenkofer School of Public Health at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. She has more than 20 years of experience in health and risk communication, both in academia and in practice. Brigitte has a background as anesthesiologist and holds both a Master in Epidemiology and in Medical Ethics and Law. In research, teaching and practice her focus is on the reality and future of health communication and ethical and evidence-informed decision-making. This includes a critical look at algorithmic decision support systems, especially on applicability, reliability and on gender bias. She is co-founder of an agency for health communication.
