Detlef Schwarte

Detlef Schwarte (born 1969) is a dioplom sociologist and co-founder of the Reeperbahn Festival, Germany's largest club festival and most important industry event for the music industry. As director, Schwarte was responsible for the international conference of the Reeperbahn Festival from 2009 to 2021 and developed the programme into the largest music industry conference in Europe during this time. Since Dec. 2023 he is Director of the Reeperbahn Festival and responsible for a programme of about 800 programmes taking place on four days in around 90 venues. 

Schwarte is co-initiator of the European Foundation of Music Conferences and the International Music Journalism Award.
In addition, as partner and managing director of the Hamburg event agency Inferno Events GmbH & Co. KG, Schwarte develops client and public events. Schwarte is also partner and managing director of the music venue Häkken in Hamburg.
