Fabrizio Poltronieri is a mathematician, semiotician, and artist whose work explores the boundaries between human meaning-making and artificial intelligence. With over two decades at the intersection of creative computing and AI research, he brings a combination of formal rigour and cultural depth to one of the most urgent questions of our time: what does it mean for humans and machines to create together?
A UNESCO consultant on artificial intelligence and creativity, and CTO of two companies pioneering AI applications in education, health, and games, Fabrizio coined the concept of 'symbiotic future’, a vision in which artificial intelligence does not replace human beings but collaborates with us in real time, through transparent processes, challenging human creativity while being challenged in return.
He has held academic positions in both computer science and media departments, and his research connects semiotic theory to computational systems, asking not just what AI can do, but what it communicates, and what it means.
