Justus von Daniels

Justus is Editor-in-Chief of the non-profit media house CORRECTIV. Based in Berlin, he leads the investigative newsroom together with Anette Dowideit. In 2018, he founded CORRECTIV.Lokal, a network of more than 2000 local journalists in Germany. He organized a crowd-based project „Who owns the city“, which ran in eight cities with more than 10000 participants. At CORRECTIV he develops new formats of participation in journalism. Before joining CORRECTIV in 2015 as an investigative reporter, he worked as a freelance journalist for Der Tagesspiegel and Die Zeit. For his work he received several awards, was named „Editor-in-Chief“ in 2021 and „Journalists of the Year“ 2024 together with his team of the investigation „Geheimplan gegen Deutschland“. Justus is a trained lawyer and obtained a PhD in 2008. Between 2010 and 2012 he worked as a Post doc in Princeton and New York.
