Gözde Böcü is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Citizen Lab in the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy and a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto. Gözde's work focuses on issues at the intersection of migration, identity and democracy. At the Citizen Lab - where she focuses on digital repression, and human rights - she explores the role that repressive technologies play in undermining democratic institutions, politics and processes in the digital age. Over the years, she received numerous Canadian and European awards in support of her work. Her research has been published in numerous outlets such as Foreign Policy and various renowned academic journals.
